Tara Segalewitz, B.S.

Tara

Tara hails from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and is a double Gator having earned her BHS in Communication Sciences and Disorders from UF in 2019. Tara is currently finishing up her first year of the Master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders degree at UF. She has a passion for medical speech pathology and aspires to work in the acute care medical setting after graduation.

Tara was a standout student in her Spring 2020 Dysphagia class with Dr. Plowman – who invited her to join the ARC team and serve as a trained rater for videofluoroscopy files in individuals with ALS in our R01 natural history study.

Tara will also be completing her Fall 2020 clinical rotation in the ARC lab and will gain clinical experience working with patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery, lung transplantation, and surgery for lung cancer on the inpatient research side. She will also get to work with outpatient studies in PD and ALS. When Tara is not looking at VFSS studies, she can be found baking, spending time with family and friends, and being active.
