Back in October, the journal Neurogastroenterology and Motility accepted a manuscript submission from the NSSR side of the lab entitled “Oropharyngeal Dysphagia Profiles in Oculopharyngeal Muscular Dystrophy.” The first author is PhD candidate Lauren Tabor, supported by Dr. Emily Plowman. This work was a collaboration between the NSSR lab and Dr. Sarah Youssof of the University of New Mexico, and includes the efforts of Carol Romero-Clark of the UNM OPMD Clinic.
While it would be nearly impossible for anyone outside of this group to appreciate the amount of hard work that went into this publication, all can join the SSC lab in congratulating these folks for their dedication. The countless hours spent on this serves to help advance our understanding of swallowing disorders in individuals with OPMD which, ultimately, we hope will improve the care provided to these patients.
