And the award goes to…
…but first, a little backstory.
On Friday, March 17th, Raele Robison, Ph.D. student and mentee of Dr. Emily Plowman, presented her poster “Respiratory Strength Exercise Program Improves Pulmonary, Cough and Lingual Physiologic Reserve in an Individual with C9orf72 ALS”. This poster was funded by a grant from the ALS Association and presented by Raele at the 12th Annual Neuroplasticity Symposium at the University of Florida. The event itself was funded by the NIH T32 HD043730 Teaching Grant, with speakers from across the country representing a range of expertise from neurology to physical medicine.
Raele’s poster was presented alongside a diverse range of others, and we are proud to recognize her for winning an award for a top poster presentation. Her work was judged along categories of impact, innovation, writing, layout, completeness, and presentation. The award included a travel gift of $400.
We are continually impressed by the quality of Rae’s work and proud to have her continuing to represent the work of our laboratory and the Swallowing Systems Core as a whole. Congratulations, Raele, on earning this recognition through your continued efforts!
